Tibet, China As the torch enters China’s borders through Tibet, countries around the world are finalizing their Summer Olympic teams. Athletes are exercising tremendous amounts of self-control as they equip themselves for competition through a strict diet, exercise regimen and mental preparation. For prime examples of self-control, the athletes need look no further than Tibet whose culture is deeply rooted in the belief that self-control is a means to true happiness. They embody the teaching of 2 Timothy 1:7: “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”When you model self-control for your grandchildren, you teach them about God’s powerful influence in your life. When you promote these characteristics outside your family, you provide a foundation for other grandparents to influence their families. Show God’s spirit of power and love through a donation in support of CGN’s equipping tools including the Legacy Conference, the Voice of Experience e-newsletter, GrandCamps, CGN Prayer ministry, and consulting to churches to help restore the unique role of Christian grandparenting.
