SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE WORLD
“Since they (mankind) did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, He gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.” Rom. 1:28
Famine, floods, and other natural disasters, combine with war, disease, starvation and death as an everyday reality of life on this planet. Incurable diseases like cancer, AIDS, influenza and diabetes, not to mention increasing incidents of divorce, domestic violence, rape, genocide, terrorism and every kind of evil imaginable among the human race leave no doubt that something is not right – that this is not the way life should be.

Before we move on to Absolute Reality #2, I thought it would be appropriate to meditate on the foundational Reality that God alone is the Creator of all that exists and worship our Creator-Father. We sing a song from time to time in our church that wonderfully expresses this reality. Many of you will be familiar with this song. Take a moment to reflect and meditate once again on the truth of the One who uniquely made you and me and the amazing world in which we live. Worship Him in the splendor of His holiness.

“Purple mountain majesty” is a daily wonder for those of us who live the Rocky Mountains. The roaring power of Niagara Falls and Victoria Falls leave visitors speechless and awe. The towering splendor of the California’s redwoods, and the amazing hovering and darting flight antics of the hummingbird display an amazing, creative design. Every insect, every plant, every mineral, every landscape, every creature of the sea, air or land proclaim the reality of someone bigger than ourselves.

God Is One and Created ALL That Exists… Including You

Paganism is the prevailing religious view of our culture today. Paganism essentially says that it doesn’t matter what you believe. Every person’s religious beliefs have value and should be respected and accepted as equally valid. Whether you believe in a “God”, or in many gods, or in no gods makes no difference. It is only important that you believe and that others respect your belief. It sounds "tolerant", until you smash into the realm of absolute truth.

WORLDVIEW MATTERS
“See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of the world rather than on Christ.” Colossians 2:8
Children are like clay. Fresh clay can easily be molded and hold an impression. The longer the clay is exposed to the air, the more difficult it is to mold. Once it has been hardened by time and heat, it takes some pretty severe effort to make an impression.
Research reveals that more than 75% of all decisions for Christ in this country occur before age 21. More than half of those happen by age 12! By the time a child becomes a teenager, their view of reality is pretty well set for life, but by God’s grace. That is why grandparents must take their role as vessels of grace and truth seriously, particularly with the young.
