Absolute Reality #1 - Part One

Absolute Reality #1

God Is One and Created ALL That Exists… Including You

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth… and God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:1, 27

Paganism is the prevailing religious view of our culture today. Paganism essentially says that it doesn’t matter what you believe. Every person’s religious beliefs have value and should be respected and accepted as equally valid. Whether you believe in a “God”, or in many gods, or in no gods makes no difference. It is only important that you believe and that others respect your belief. It sounds "tolerant", until you smash into the realm of absolute truth.

Absolute truth is rooted in the reality that there is one God and that He is the Creator of all things. This poses a problem for paganism (universalism). If there is a God who is Creator of ALL that exists, I do not have the luxury of believing what I want to believe about Him and the world He has created. I am forced to either choose to believe what is true about the Creator and the creation, or to ignore it and believe whatever I want to believe. To choose the latter would be foolish indeed and lead to devastating consequences.

Truth is truth no matter what I choose to believe. And the truth is that GOD is and has created all that is, including you and me. As His creation, we are subject to Him and His laws. We do not set the rules – He does! Because He has revealed Himself to us through His creation and His Word as gracious, loving and merciful, we can be confident that His rules are for our best. This truth is the foundation for all that follow. If it is missing or distorted, all else will crumble.

FANNING THE FLAME
Our grandchildren must grasp the significance of this first universal truth as foundational to all the other truths that will follow in our discussion. The wonderful thing about young children is that they often have a much better understanding of reality as it pertains to God and creation than teens or adults. However, their ability to see the wonders of God’s creation, both in the world around us and the marvelous design of man, need to be constantly cultivated by our encouragement to look, investigate and explore the evidence that is all around them. Lead them into adventures of wonder and amazement at all that God has made and done.

Crowding little lives does not build options, but in effect, kills the wonder in all the options.” -- Ravi Zacharias
I wish my sister knew the true meaning of this phrase.
She is raising her grandson and constantly crowds his life with everything but family. He has never been aloud to go anywhere with any of us. Even a short trip to the store. She keeps him busy with everything and anything she can find in his age group. I thank God for the few people who are able to have an enfluence in his life. He goes to Church, and school and he participates in Christian Activities
in the community. But never aloud to have any one on one relationships with Aunt's Uncle's or great grandparents. Unless she is present. She takes him everywhere she goes. He will soon be 9 years old and I was shocked the other days when my own grandchildren came to visit and she let him ride in our car to be with them. but she was still in the car behind us all the way. When we stopped for gas, she came to the car to make sure he was ok.
at family gatherings she demands that special accomidations be made for him. Yet she insists that he not be out of her sight. Not even to go outside alone in a 6foot privacy fence to play with the dog.
When he started school it became a real problem. she volunteered to be in the classroom. then when there were too many parents and she was not needed she would try to hang around the school to be close to him. "ie" the cafeteria, the playground, outside windows. She really has a problem. She raised her own children the same way. they were never aloud out of her sight. If I spoke to them and she couldn't hear what was said she demanded to know every word that has been spoken and to scold one of them was out of the question. The same applys to her grandson, she gets mad if his grandfather corrects him.
He kicked a foot ball into the side of his grandfathers car and left a dent in the side of it. When his grandfather started to scold him for it, she put her arm around the little guy and told his grand father he was just a child and accidents happen. (the yard was and 1/2 acre wide. and the car was less then ten feet where he was standing). Everytime he tries to correct the child she steps in.
She is such a "control freak" and I hate using that phrase. It's a real problem. when we go to resturants as a family that she insists on telling everyone where to sit. She has even ask people to get up and move at which we refuse. I truely wish someone could get through to her. We have tried everything so many times. But she insists she is raising him in the admonishion of Christ and that she is right. She constantly tells us all to mind our own business. He is her grand son. she has custody of him and she will not relinquish one single moment of his life to spend with anyone else. I firmly believe that she is afraid he will love someone other than her. She is very jelous and resentful if anyone says anything to him. She watches our every word and pulls him back to her if she doesn't like what we are saying. this is a very real problem. What can we do. This has been going on for 22 years, first with her children and now with her grandson. WE HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING!!! We have even told her she needs help. She denies anything is wrong. Please help us pray for this little guy.
