How's Your Soul Today ...

Last week I took my grandchildren to a restaurant. My six-year-old grandson asked if he could say grace.  As we bowed our heads he said, "God is good, God is great.  Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if Nana gets us ice cream for dessert.  And Liberty and justice for all!  Amen!"

Grandpa's Hands

Grandpa, some ninety plus years, sat feebly on the patio bench.  He did not move, just sat with his head down staring at his hands.  When I sat down beside him he did not acknowledge my presence.  Finally, not really wanting to disturb him but wanting to check on him at the same time, I asked him if he was OK.

Grandparents Worst Nightmare

This morning I woke up in a cold sweat.  My heart pounded, and I gasped for breath.  Like Pac-Man, I was being chased, not by a ghost, but by a computer geek.  

“Your ‘grandmother board’ is obsolete,” he jeered.  “It needs to be replaced.”

“No! No!” I yelled.  “I’ll get upgrades, more memory, a smaller chip.  I’ll go digital.  Whatever it takes!
