Grandparent with a Purpose

My Grandmother Is Praying Proverbs 15:30 For Me

“A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.” ?Proverbs 15:30

Father, how grateful we are for the good news of the gospel.
I pray that my grandchild would never cease to be amazed that nothing can separate him
“from the love of God that is in Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 8:39).
Please use this truth, Lord to promote spiritual health, growth, and maturity.
May the heart of my grandchild always be humble and thankful
that he is known by such a great and wonderful God.

Application: Share with your grandchildren how excited you were to receive the good news of their birth and the awe you felt that God had blessed your family with such a precious new life.

This prayer suggestion is used by permission from “My Grandmother is. . . praying for me” by Kathryn March, Pamela Ferris, and Susan Kelton. They are three ordinary grandmothers desiring to pray for the next generation to become men and women of strong character and great faith. They have a verse from the Proverbs, a prayer for the verse and an application for each day of the year. I have found the book an excellent resource for praying from my grandchildren, especially for character development. You may order the book from their website: www.mygrandmotheris.com.
