Day of Prayer

September 8, 2013
Christian Grandparenting Network is asking grandparents all over the world to unite in prayer for their grandchildren on Sunday, September 8, 2013. This date is the official United States National Grandparents Day designated by a Senate proclamation signed by President Jimmy Carter in 1978.

“. . . all the believers lifted their voices together in prayer to God . . .“ Acts 4:24 (NLT)
Thank you for joining thousands of grandparents around the world to stand in the gap for their grandchildren on the Second annual Grandparents Day of Prayer on September 8, 2013. Just as Esther stood in the gap for her people, grandparents can stand in the gap with prayer for their grandchildren, not only on September 8 but everyday. As a thank you gift for linking arms and going to battle for the sake of the next generation and making Grandparents Day of Prayer a high priority you will receive an email with download link to a copy of an excerpt from my book on prayer entitled Grandparenting with a Purpose. Called "Communicate Your Faith", I hope you will find this a useful tool in your own prayer life.

Grandparenting with a Purpose
Maybe your grandchildren are living with you. Maybe they’re thousands of miles away. Their parents may be spiritually rebellious or simply neglectful of the family’s spiritual life, failing to make prayer and church attendance a regular part of their routine. But even if your grandchildren’s parents have established a strong Christian home, busy schedules, jobs, parenting, and all the distractions of today’s world conspire to distract or even destroy the family. How can you, as a grandparent, help?
