Stand Firm In The Faith

In Esther, we also read about Esther’s uncle Mordecai, who would not kneel down and pay honor to Haman, one of the royal officials at the king’s gate. When Haman saw that Mordecai would not bow down to him, he became very angry, looking for a way to destroy not only Mordecai but also all his people, the Jews in Susa.

However, Mordecai was self-controlled and alert. The enemy was prowling like a roaring lion trying to devour Mordecai. Nevertheless, Mordecai stood firm in his faith and resisted the enemy as Peter wrote in II Peter 5:8-9.

Be self-controlled and alert.

Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion

looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith.

Our grandchildren face many temptations and challenges socially and morally. The younger ones may have temptations to lie, cheat, and disobey. The older ones also face many social issues from their peers.  Let’s pray our grandchildren will stand strong, firm in their faith, and make wise decisions when tempted as Mordecai did.

  • Pray they will recognize the deception from the enemy
  • Pray your grandchildren will have self-control and be alert to the enemy who is seeking to steal and destroy their faith.
  • Pray they will stand firm and strong in their faith and resist the enemy.
