The Crowns Of Grandparents

Children’s children are a crown to the aged.  Proverbs 17:6a
The silver-haired head is a crown of glory,
if it is found in the way of righteousness.
Proverbs 16:31 (NKJV)

When you became a grandparent, did you feel you were crowned? In Proverbs, we read that grandchildren are a crown to the aged. However, along with the crown comes a requirement, it says, it says the crown is found in the way of righteousness.

Helen Kooiman Hosier writes in her book Living the Lois Legacy, “The important thing; however is to make sure that we, as grandparents, reflect the godly qualities that differentiate us from the world in today’s godless society.”?

This week let’s pray for ourselves that as grandparents we will reflect godly qualities that differentiate us from the world in today’s godless society to our grandchildren. If we have been intentional in developing a close relationship with the Lord and our grandchildren, we will have a greater opportunity to influence them. if they lose their way.
