Father, thank You for this wonderful promise of reward to those who humbly trust in You. Please give my grandchild the discernment to accept the time and place of these rewards. Help him/her to gratefully receive Your blessings here on earth and to patiently await those rewards to be enjoyed in heaven. Whatever Your plan for his/her life, may his/her primary focus be not on the gifts she/he receives, but on the Giver.

Application:  Tell your grandchild the story of Joseph from Genesis 37-47. Relate how Joseph had to humble himself many times and how he feared the Lord rather than man. The result was wealth, honor, and life—not only for himself, but for all of Israel.
