A grandparent's blessing is a special event for a child. More than just empty words, a real spiritual blessing can be a powerful milestone in a child's religious development. Nothing brings the generations together in unity like a formal blessing from one generation to the next.
We have provided some guideliness to help you write a blessing for your grandchild that will truly lodge in his or her young heart, along with many examples of excellent blessings written by CGN friends and partners. Click this link, Blessing Your Grandchildren, to download the pdf file.
The need for adoptive grandparents in our day is not an unusual request. We often receive requests from families, especially single parents, asking if we know of grandparents who would be willing to adopt their families. Like the Lungers, such parents are looking for "positive role models for ourselves and our children." The need to build positive experiences and memories for their children is a powerful motive for seeking what is often missing in many families.
If you are interested in serving as an adoptive grandparent in your community, contact us at CGN and let us know of your interest. We will send you a profile form and set up a listing of available grandparents who might match with families needing Christian grandparents in your area.
